Cooking Club Launches

In February, Ms. Janney and I launched our new Kent Cooking Club in the library! With the help of Rocky Packard, chef de cuisine for Woodlands, we made salads and our own salad dressing! It was lots of fun and we plan to have our next Cooking Club meeting on March 20th at lunch. Sign ups will be available in the library next week!

Battle of the Books

Our third annual Battle of the Books (aka BOB) will launch this Friday at lunch in the library. Students are encouraged to come as a team of four or sign up in individuals to be grouped with others. We have a super exciting line up of books to read! The Battle of the Books will culminate with our lunch and competition during Read Week at the end of May.

Save the Date: Thursday, May 28, 2020

Speaking of Read Week, we will hold our third annual Read Week during the last week in May. On Thursday, May 28th, we will have our Book Passage evening event with performances by the Kent bands (including the Teacher Band!), summer reading lists and recommendations, and student performances.

Thank You for the Donations

I am constantly overwhelmed by the generous donations from our Kent families. New books and gently used books are always appreciated. I often process them and put them directly into the library or give them to classrooms where I know they will be used and enjoyed. Thank you!!!

Library Patron of the Month

Each month I try to honor a student who is an avid library user and book enthusiast, as well as a student who is helpful and kind. This month's LPOTM is fifth grader Rex Riedel. Come to the Kent Library and check out what he loves to read and where!

Comic Club Meets Tuesday!

Does your child love graphic novels and comics? Do you have a child who loves to draw? Then please remind them that we meet Tuesdays at lunch for the Kent Comic Club. It's a fun and relaxed way to connect with friends new and old over a shared passion!
