Kent Site Council Candidate Statements

Ina Gotlieb

I’m Ina Gotlieb and I’d like to serve on the Kent Site Council. I am a mother of a rising eighth grade boy and 5th grade girl at Kent. In addition to being a Kent parent, I am also a substitute teacher at the school. Over the years I have taught every grade and subject while developing relationships with the staff and the students. I served on the KSPTA Executive Board for three years, as Bacich VP and then President, and I started and organized a variety of events, including the annual Bacich Pizza and Games Night and the Kentfield Music Festival. I’ve been an active part of the efforts to improve our schools by helping to develop our current hot lunch program and through the school bond and the parcel tax measure campaigns. I have volunteered in our schools in pretty much every capacity over the years and have a deep personal commitment to improving our kids’ school experience. I believe that I can be a valuable contributor to the Site Council and would love the opportunity to work together with the Kent students and faculty to continue to support our schools and our community. Thank you for considering me for this role.

Tristi Marshall

Hello, my name is Tristi Marshall and I am very excited to run for Kent School Site Council. I have lived in Greenbrae the past 10 years with my husband Damon and our two children: Abe (10, and attending Kent next year) and Tallulah (7, currently at Bacich).  I am a full-time working parent, however I am extremely passionate about volunteering my free time to community organizations and charities, particularly those that involve my kids.  I currently sit on the Board of Kentfield Girls Softball, am a room parent, regularly volunteer at school and have contributed my time to a number of programs like Ross Valley Little League and Stapleton Ballet.

If you haven't met me, know that I am very organized, detail-oriented and extremely responsive.  I really enjoy discussing the school system and how parents and teachers can work together to make it better. I have creative ideas and I am quick to find solutions to all the various issues and topics that come up each year.  Furthermore, I consider myself a forward thinker with a goal of improving our school for future students.

I love giving back to the community and it would be an honor to be part of the Site Council with a goal of working together, sharing ideas, planning, preparing and executing on behalf of the students, teachers and parents alike. If you have any questions or would like to get to know me better, please reach out to me directly.

Joelle Williams

As a current parent of a third and sixth grader, my background, past and current roles throughout the district, relate well to a position on Kent’s Site Council. As like most parents in the district, I have spent many hours over the past seven years volunteering in the classrooms, as a lead room parent, at art and for the PTA. I frequently attend Parent Partner meetings and I am passionate that the school is a fit for students at all levels of our education system. My multiple terms as a Kik board member, volunteering on Measure A and, most recently, working on TWC, a collective impact project at Kent, have me seeking additional opportunities to help support our district.

My professional background included strategic visioning, large group facilitation, action-oriented decision making and consistent brand messaging.  Desiring more time at home with my family and in the community, I retired two years ago after 25 years in the wholesale/retail/marketing industry. I am excited about the prospect of joining Kent’s Site Council to leverage my experience and skillset to advance our schools and community and help Kent achieve its annual goals while also addressing other issues that impact our district.

Thank you for your consideration.
